Matching Boots

My kids are such Goof-balls. They had to match, wearing their boots at the same time. It's just so fun to share videos this way.

Monster or Little Girl?

I have always called Julianna my "little Monster", but now I'm going to let you decided if it's just a cute nickname or if she truly a Monster.

  • She likes to hug and feed her baby dolls.
  • In a fit of rage she throws her baby dolls a crossed the room and screams.
  • She lets me brush, braid, and put her hair in pig-tails.
  • When she doesn't get what she wants she pulls my hair out in chucks.
  • She lovingly hold my face and smiles.
  • She slaps my face repetitively when she's mad.
  • Julie loves her brother and shares her toys
  • Julie will scream bloody murder if Audric even looks at her toys.
  • When she wakes up in the morning she comes quietly in my bed and snuggles.
  • When she wakes up in the morning she colors on my white chair, pulls off her diaper filled with poop and puts it on the floor, eats and spits out nine large jelly beans all over the house...
  • Julie has always been a good eater.
  • She also likes to stick food up her nose.
  • She listens and follows me out the door when asked.
  • She throws herself to the ground, legs flailing, when she doesn't want to go some where.
  • Julie gives Audric loving pats on the back from time to time.
  • Other times she slaps him while laying on top of him.

I'm sure I could go on and on about Julie's spilt personality. But the important part is that I'm so happy and in love with her when she's being a Good Girl that I can handle her being a monster every now and again.

*All these thing come from true events. However horrible they may be, they don't happen all the time.

Growing up

I cut Audric's hair today and it makes him look so old. He read the first four pages of "HOP ON POP" all by himself last night. I kept thinking to myself "is he really reading this, can he already be old enough". It just blows my mind. And Julianna is picking up on letter really fast. Ever since Tim left she has been say new words all the time and now she points out letter off of everything. She doesn't always get them 100% right but she's pretty good.
Where did my babies go.

Something old, Something new...

As I'm sure you all know I'm big into crafts (old). If it can be done I can pretty much do it. As you may or may not know I started selling things I make on Etsy under www.homemadejules.etsy.com. I've got a few things up there now and I'm working to get more up soon. This all got started when I was helping the thrift shop I volunteer at go through the winter clothes and pack them up for spring. I asked if I could buy some of the cute teen sweaters to make them into Lambs. The manager got so excited about me making the lambs that she started saving all sweaters and other cool fabrics that would come in for me to look at. She got me really excited about doing other animals and selling them at a big craft fair here. So that's how I got started on Etsy. I thought it would be a good way to keep me focused on making things. Something else new is I made my first Diaper Cake. It was so fun and it turned out really quite good, if I don't say so myself (I have to pump myself up when Tim is deploy since he's not here to do it for me :). So this is just one more thing I will be selling through Etsy. Thanks for reading my silly Blogs!
If you know anyone who would be interested in the things I make please pass it on.

This morning

I'm not sure I should write about this because even though it's cool, it makes me look like a bad mother. Oh well. This morning Audric came to wake me up and I asked him if he was hungry and wanted cereal. He then told me that he already had cereal that he got himself. I go look and sure enough he opened the step stool (Maybe I shouldn't have taught him how to open it) climbed on the counter, got a bowl, filled it with Cheerios and poured in the milk. The thing that really amazes me is he actually put the empty milk jug in the recycling bin. That's my boy!

Oh how my Garden grows!

Last year we had a vegetable garden for the first time. It worked out so well we did it again this year. Plus we did most of it from seed. A great person gave the PSA ( Pope Spouses Association) a ton of seeds, I mean three black bags full, for our "Go Green" social back in March. I was really scared doing a garden with seeds but besides the headaches with the squirrels it was really easy. We (I really should say I but Tim did entertain the kids and the kids did help with the seeds before they loss interest) planted Carrots, lettuce, purple beans, snow peas, tomatoes, melons, cucumbers, basil and corn from seed. The black berries, raspberries, squash, chives and peppers were all from the store or there from the year before. We are already enjoying the fruits of our labor. Audric loves to eat the beans, peas and lettuce. Julie, however, enjoys chewing the vegetables up into a pulp and then spitting them out when she's done. Here I'm eating a purple bush bean. It tastes just like a green bean but it's purple. I really enjoy growing things. Now if I can only get my grass to grow.

Now or Never

I don't think there has been a better time for me to start a Blog. In the last couple days we have gone through a lot.
Tim deployed to Germany Thursday morning and arrive there on Saturday. He flies his first mission tomorrow to Africa. He's doing great.

We have kept pretty busy with lunches, a Birthday party, dinner with friends, Bunko with the Pope Spouses' Association, a trip to the ER, a Doctor's appointment and yard work.

Yes the ER! This is Audric's second time to the ER in the last two months. April 3rd Audric busted his mouth on a playground and knocked his front tooth up into his gums. It's doing good now. He can eat fine on it and it's coming out at a good rate. This time Audric was climbing off the chair on his tummy head first and jammed a paint brush he had in his mouth into his soft pallet about an inch deep. It was pushed in there with such force that the handle broke in half with a snap. I halfway thought about leaving it in so we would be seen quicker at the ER. Poor Audric was gagging and crying too much, so I did as any good mother would do and pulled it out. We went to the ER and left Julie with good friends. It took 4 hours to get into a room and another 1 1/2 before I left at 2am with a prescription for antibiotics.

I was much more prepared for this trip to the ER. I brought pain meds and shoes for Audric, but forgot entertainment (book, crocheting, DS...). I guess I thought for sure he would be seen before the countless people who really didn't even need to be seen by a Dr. That's the ER for ya.

If that wasn't enough, I notice this morning Audric's eye was still red (it was red from crying last night). So after sleeping until 8am we headed off to the pharmacy and the kids Pediatrician. It turns out Audric and Julie have pink eye. The Kids did really good for me. Julie only freaked out once while getting her into the car seat. All in all it worked out better then I could have plan for for such a disaster. We were home in time for lunch.

This is Video I was recording Audric spelling his name right before the mishap. Notice the paint brush and the mismatched PJs.
